Penmaenmawr

Penmaenmawr is located in North Wales, between Llanfairfechan and Conwy. It is easily accessible by the A55, over the beautiful mountains of the Sychnant Pass which are part of the Snowdonia National Park. Penmaenmawr is made up of two villages, Penmaenan and Pant Ur Afon on the west and Dwygyflchi and Capelulo on the east.

Penmaenmawr has one of the nicest beaches in North Wales. It has received the blue flag award every year since 2004. It’s sandy and bathing is safe, boating is also popular. Along the front there is a mile long promenade with a boat slipway ,a childrens play pool and a cafe.

Two small rivers flow through the area, Afon Pabwyr which runs under the town centre and Afon Gyrrach, which runs to the beach.

There are many different attractions in the area, there’s a sailing club, golf club, fishing and mountain bike trails. In April, if you’re lucky you can sometimes see dolphines leaping from the sea on their way to the Menai straights.
